Teacher helping students

SJL Sixth Form is a vibrant community of students and teachers committed to achieving excellence in everything we do.  As a Sixth Form community, we take great pride in all our achievements and I hope that this booklet will give you just a little taste of what a special place SJL Sixth Form really is.

At SJL we are committed to offering you not only the highest possible quality of teaching, but also the personalised support and guidance that will allow you to reach your goals. Both I and my dedicated team of sixth form leaders and tutors are here to support you though all your studies in a spirit of trust and mutual respect and in an environment where learning is fun.

It is a central characteristic of our community that the high expectations we have of our students are matched by the high expectations our students have of themselves.  If your expectations match ours, I would be delighted to hear from you.  I can guarantee that in return we can offer you a highly enjoyable and memorable two years where your academic ambitions will be met in a stimulating atmosphere of care and support.

Applications to join the Sixth Form in September 2013 are now closed.

Year 12 Careers Day – Wednesday, 13th March 2013

The New Year has arrived and my thoughts turn to our annual Year 12 Career’s Day which is being held this year on Wednesday, 13th March 2013. On this day we invite speakers into school to share their experience of the world of work with our students. Every year we find that students have difficulty imagining the variety of careers available and the focus of Careers Day is to open their eyes to the range of employment possibilities.
