How to apply

Our Post-16 Information evening took place on Tuesday, 24th January 2012. If you would like to apply to join the SJL Sixth Form then you can download an application form here: Download application form

The deadline for applications is Friday 10 February 2012. All applications should be accompanied by a personal statement exploring reasons for subject choices, including any future career plans if known, and what you can bring to the Sixth Form.

Subject choices should be listed in order of preference in case of over subscription.

All students intending to enter the Sixth Form at Sir John Lawes may be invited to a meeting providing a further opportunity to ask questions about the courses you are considering.

Obviously some students, on returning in September, find that their original choices are no longer the right ones for a variety of reasons. Whilst we will try to accommodate students who wish to change their courses, it should be noted that this is not always possible due to timetable restrictions, so please make your choices carefully. Changes may only take place after negotiation with the Head of Sixth Form and the relevant Head of Faculty and will not be possible after the end of September.
