Studying Mathematics in the 6th Form will be useful for many careers and essential for some.
Mathematics at A level extends the work you have done at GCSE higher and introduces some new ideas. There is much more emphasis on using mathematics as a tool for solving problems.
Most of the work is still question and answer based in a similar style to GCSE.
Almost all the course uses algebra as the basic tool so you should not opt for this unless your algebraic manipulation skills are very strong.
You will be given end of topic tests throughout the course and you will have to sit a modular examination for each module.
You will be expected to have achieved at least a B grade at GCSE Mathematics.
