

For AS you will study the different ways in which people relate to and become involved in politics. This includes types of democracy, different political parties, their ideas, elections and different electoral systems.
You will also analyse the way in which the UK is governed in detail. This includes examining the UK constitution, what it is and whether it is an effective method of government and the structures and functions of Parliament itself.
At A2 you will study international politics and political ideologies. In political ideologies you will study the competing views of Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism and Anarchism in depth.
You will also analyse key global political issues. These include the 'war on terrorism', poverty and development, global environmental issues and human rights in international politics.
