Introduction

Specification: AQA AS + A Level (A1, A2)

This subject is part of the consortium offer and takes place at St George's.

AS and A Level Food Technology are equally suited to those who intend to leave School to pursue employment, as well as those who wish to continue with Further or Higher Education.

It combines very well with both the Sciences and the Art/Humanities A Level subjects and there are a wide range of degree courses available.

Career opportunities vary widely and include Food Technology in Industry, Food Photography, Dietetics, Teaching, Catering and Hotel Management.

Previous students who have successfully completed the Food Technology A Level have gone on to study degrees in nutrition, dietetics, sports science and nutrition, other food related degrees, accountancy, equestrian studies and many other degrees. Universities look favourably on the wide range of transferable skills which this A Level course develops.
